The Parish Council consists of 9 elected and 2 co-opted councillors supported by a qualified clerk (CiLCA). The council was accredited as a ‘Quality Parish Council’ on 17th October 2007 for 4 years and has been re-accredited for a further term. Quality status shows that we are an effective, active and representative council.
Working groups deal with planning, finance, human resources and the landscape character assessment, also individual councillors represent the village for other activities such as; Clare Lodge, Patients Participation Group, AMVC Pool, Peterborough Association of Local Councils, Police Consultative Group, Glinton Youth Club and the Northern Footpath Forum.
The Clerk acts as both the Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) and Proper Officer and is responsible for assisting and guiding the council in the lawful discharging of its function and duties. This includes general administration tasks, the processing of planning applications and the management of the Lawn Cemetery situated in Rectory Lane.
