The council is a consultee on all planning applications.
In the past year the Parish Council processed 42 planning applications, 3 of its decisions were appealed against, 2 of which were dismissed by the planning inspector. A play centre has opened in the old Crown premises, which has transformed the site and saved the old public house from demolition. Work to include the village design statement in the Council’s supplementary planning document has been completed, which should ensure that any further development in the village is carried out in a sympathetic manner. We now have to work towards a neighbourhood plan. The Government Planning Inspector has approved the city’s development plan, which includes Glinton, as a limited growth village, which we have all been working for.
