This council is committed to local democracy and citizenship and in partnership with Peterborough City Council, our unitary authority, we are fully engaged with the community through undertaking a survey of residents views every 5 years and the development of Neighbourhood Committees (NHC) which allow you to give your views about issues and services in your own community rather than having to attend meetings in the Town Hall.

At the City Council level the Youth Council has members from all secondary schools including our own Arthur Mellows Village College, who represent their peers and give them all a voice to raise issues.

NEIGHBOURHOOD INVESTMENT PLAN

Way back in July 2007 a Glinton Parish Council Working Party - Future Development of Glinton was formed to work with the City Council's Neighbourhood Investment Team (NIT) to ultimately produce a Neighbourhood Investment Plan (NIP) to be adopted as guidance by the City Council.

The key stages were to issue a questionaire to all homes, collate the responses and for the NIT to process the data in preperation of a NIP.  Under the leadership of Cllr Gerry Kirt a NIP has been produced and was presented to residents on 7 Oct 09.
